Board of Directors

The following individuals serve on the Board of Directors of the Bank of Sullivan.

Jon Downard
Jon Downard - Chairman
Elected as Bank of Sullivan’s Chairman of the Board January 2018; Downard has been on our board since 2015. He is a graduate of Union High School and East Central College; received his Bachelors of Science degree in Public Administration from the University of Missouri. He then obtained his law degree from Oklahoma City University. Downard is the senior partner in the law firm of Hansen, Stierberger, Downard, Schroeder & Head, LLC. He is a member of the Missouri and Kansas Bar and admitted and qualified as an Attorney and Counselor to practice before the United States Supreme Court. He is the former Prosecuting Attorney for both the City of Sullivan and the City of Pacific. Downard currently serves as Chairman of the Board and CEO for Physicians Standard Insurance Company; President of Corporate Insurance Services, LLC; one of the principle owners of Hansen Franklin County Title and Abstract, Inc. and Missouri Professional Title. Downard is a Past President of the Twentieth Judicial Bar Association, having served as President twice. He is also a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Beaufort, MO. Downard and his wife, Diana, reside in Union.
Mike Hoffman Director
Mike Hoffman - President & Chief Executive Officer
Is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank of Sullivan. Hoffman has served on the Board since 2004; he has been with the bank since 1997 and has been in banking since 1991. Hoffman, a 1989 graduate of Missouri State University (B.S. Financial Management), also attended the Graduate School of Banking in Colorado and Missouri School of Banking at Springfield. Hoffman also serves on the Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital board as Chairman, Board Member of Midwest Independent Bankers and is a past board member on the Spring Bluff school board. He is a member of Rotary and various civic and youth groups. Hoffman, his wife and their children reside in Sullivan.
Albert Schlueter
Albert Schlueter
Has been a member of the Board of Directors of Bank of Sullivan since 1986. Schlueter is a retired attorney. A graduate of St. Louis University (BS 1961) (LLD 1964) He and his wife, Susan, reside in Creve Coeur Missouri and have four grown children and six grandchildren.
Doug Strauser
J. Douglas Strauser
Was named to the Bank of Sullivan Board in 1999. He is the founder of Strauser Drugs in Sullivan, Linn Drugs in Linn, I.S. Land and Strauser Properties L.L.C. and a co-founder of the Sullivan Emergency Assistance Fund. He is currently a member of the Missouri Pharmacy Association and International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists. He has served as Mayor of Sullivan, past Alderman of Ward 3, and past President of the Sullivan School District Board of Education. Strauser is a graduate of the St. Louis College of Pharmacy (1976). He and his wife, Joan, reside in Sullivan and have four children and three grandchildren.
Matt Tiefenbrunn

Dr. Tiefenbrunn a life long resident of Sullivan was appointed to the Board in January 2009. He is a graduate of Sullivan High School; he attended Washington University where he received his undergraduate degree. Tiefenbrunn went to the University of Missouri for medical school and completed his residency at Duke University Medical Center. He did a fellowship at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. In 1999 he returned to Sullivan to start his private medical practice. He has served as Chief of Staff at Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital and he is currently on the board of Mercy Clinic. Active with his farm and event center, Seven T Farm. Dr. Tiefenbrunn, his wife, Mia, and their six children reside in St. Louis.
Dale Cottrell Web
Dale Cottrell
Dale Cottrell, appointed to the board in 2011, has been a longtime resident of Sullivan. He is a graduate of Sullivan High School; he attended Missouri State and received his MBA from Webster University. He and his wife Alyssa are avid sports fans; they enjoy watching their four children participate in their activities and games. Cottrell joined the Bank of Sullivan in 1997 working as a teller while in high school and attending East Central College until 1999. He returned to the Bank in 2001 as a lender and is currently an Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer. Cottrell currently serves on the Grace City Church financial committee and the Sullivan's Enhanced Enterprise Zone Board; he's a past president of the Sullivan Eagles Sports Booster Club and has served on the Industrial Development Authority and Planning & Zoning Committee in Sullivan. In 2013 Missouri Bankers Association presented Cottrell with the Young Banker of the Year award.
Steve Dickey Web
Steve Dickey
Steve Dickey, owner of Dickey Bub Farm and Home, Outdoor Gear and Dickey Properties resides in St. Clair with his wife, Denise. Dickey, elected to the board in 2011, attended East Central College and Missouri State. He is a member of the Union, Sullivan and Eureka Chamber of Commerce. Dickey has has been in the retail business since 1975. He also has vast experience in the real estate investment area. The Dickey’s are members of Immaculate Conception Catholic church in Union. They have four grown children and one granddaughter. He enjoys cattle farming, motorcycle riding and is an avid Cardinals fan.
Cliff Dudley Web
Cliff Dudley
Cliff Dudley, a native Sullivan resident, graduated from Sullivan High School going on to receive his Bachelor of Human Environmental Sciences degree in Consumer and Family Economics from the University of Missouri, Columbia, in 1993. Dudley successfully completed the graduate study program from Webster University, St. Louis, where he received his M.B.A. degree in 2001. He also has a background in sales, purchasing and insurance. Dudley, who joined the board in 2011, has been with the Bank of Sullivan since 2000 and is currently an Executive Vice President and is also the Chief Financial Officer. Dudley, his wife, Vivian, and their three children make Sullivan their home.
Kevin Mullally Web
Kevin Mullally
Kevin Mullally, owner and President of Mullally Distributing Co. Inc., a local Anheuser-Busch distributor in Cuba accepted a position on the Bank of Sullivan board in 2011. Mullally is an active member of the Missouri Beer Wholesalers Association, and the National Beer Wholesalers Association. He coached baseball for 17 years, and his team captured the Missouri State Championship Babe Ruth title. He resides in Cuba with his wife Sarah. They have three grown sons Sean, Colin, and Kevin, and 2 grandchildren.  Mullally enjoys the outdoors, spending time at their farms, and enjoys time with his family.
Dave Schatz Web
Dave Schatz
Dave Schatz is a Missouri State Senator for the 26th District and currently serves as the President Pro Tem of the Missouri Senate. He also is the Vice President of Schatz Underground, Inc., a utility contracting company. Dave joined the bank board in 2011. He is a 1982 graduate of Sullivan High School, and a life-long resident of the Sullivan and Spring Bluff area, where he formally served on the Board of Education at Spring Bluff. Dave also spent many years volunteering his time with area youth by coaching them both on and off the field. Dave is an active member of Temple Baptist Church, is a deacon and Sunday school teacher, and currently serves on the Church board. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and most importantly, spending time with his grandchildren. Dave and his wife, Chara, have five children and five grandchildren with more expected.
Leonard Armstrong Web

Leonard Armstrong joined the bank board in 2012. He is a lifelong resident of the Bourbon area. He is retired and enjoys farming. He has vast experience in the contracting, hardware & lumber business. He also has 35 years in the banking industry both in Sullivan and Bourbon. He currently serves on the Bourbon Area Community Center and the Crawford County Enhanced Enterprise Zone. He is a current member and past president of the Crawford County Cattleman’s Association and past board member of the Autumn Age Homes in Bourbon. Armstrong and his wife, Brenda, have 6 grown children and 20 grandchildren.
Earl Gates
Earl Gates
Earl Gates was appointed to the board in August of 2016. Gates is former owner of Servco Companies and Gates Manufacturing, a family owned business that was started in 1947. Servco is located in St. Louis, Missouri and serves the Midwest market. He started at Servco when he was young, attended college and served in the military until 1972. He became a Director on the Concord Bank Board in December, 2009 and was later appointed to Chairman of the Board in March, 2011. Gates is retired and currently resides in St. Louis with his wife, Maureen. He has four children and four grandchildren. He enjoys playing golf, gardening, boating and family time.
